Gimatic Industrial Automation & End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) Solutions

Gimatic delivers modular, precision-engineered automation and gripping solutions designed to enhance performance across robotic applications. By combining advanced European engineering with direct local sales, technical support, and inventory in North America, Gimatic provides end-to-end support for system integrators and manufacturing end-users.

Turnkey EOAT & Custom Gripping Systems

Gimatic develops complete, custom End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) assemblies tailored to your specific part handling requirements. With over 3,500 EOAT systems designed and deployed globally each year, our team manages every step—from initial project briefing and CAD design to mold testing, installation, and predictive maintenance.

  • 24-Hour Budgetary Quotations: Accelerate your planning cycles with GQuote, delivering a preliminary technical specification sheet, initial layout drawings, and accurate cost estimates within 24 hours of project submission.

  • Modular Building Blocks: Fully compatible framing systems, structural aluminum profiles, brackets, and quick-change systems designed for rapid assembly and seamless reconfigurability.

  • 3D Printing & Rapid Prototyping: Custom lightweight gripper fingers, specialized contoured jaws, and complex vacuum manifolds printed in PA12 glass-bead filled nylon with integrated HNBR/silicone wear pads and metal thread inserts.

  • Custom Metal Fabrication: Rapid 3-day laser cutting/bending (stainless steel, aluminum) and 5-day 5-axis CNC machining services for custom structural plates and mounting adapters.

Comprehensive Automation Product Portfolio

Gimatic integrates six core technology streams into a single unified platform, allowing components to be used standalone or combined into turnkey end-of-arm tools.

1. Pneumatic Grippers & Handling Units

  • Parallel, Angular, & Radial Grippers: Wide selection of 1-, 2-, and 3-jaw grippers with strokes up to 7.87 in, force up to 2,248 lbf per jaw, and high-protection IP67 options for harsh or wet washdown environments.

  • Specialty Handling & Cutting: Expansion grippers for internal ID gripping, magnetic grippers, needle grippers for porous fabrics/sponges, and air nippers with optional heated blades for sprue gate cutting without plastic part cracking.

  • Linear & Rotary Actuators: Compact slide units, linear thrusters, and rotary units offering 2 to 8 indexing positions for high-precision pick-and-place indexing.

2. Vacuum Technology & Suction Handling

  • Suction Cups & Suspensions: Over 1,500 vacuum part numbers including single/multi-bellows cups in NBR, Polyurethane, HNBR, and FDA-compliant/detectable silicone. Mark-free options are available for delicate automotive, glass, and display applications.

  • High-Efficiency Vacuum Generators: Multistage ejector cartridges (EJ Series) and smart pumps featuring integrated blow-off release systems, ISO valves, and low air consumption.

  • Large-Area Vacuum Grippers: Modular foam/suction cup vacuum gripping systems for palletizing boxes, corrugated sheets, interlayers, and irregular workpieces.

3. Mechatronics & Electric Grippers

  • Cleanroom-Certified Plug & Play Devices: 2-jaw and 3-jaw self-centering parallel electric grippers, radial units, and tilting grippers with integrated drivers—no external controller needed.

  • Servo & Collaborative Grippers: 24VDC brushless servo grippers featuring precise position, speed, and force control via CANopen, Profinet, and EtherCAT protocols.

  • Electric Tool Changers: Motor-driven automatic tool changers supporting payloads up to 220 lbs, zero idle power consumption, and integrated air/electrical pass-throughs.

4. Smart Sensing & IO-Link Signal Management

  • Compact Sensors: Magnetic (Reed/GMR), inductive, optical, ultrasonic, and PRO multi-point sensors designed for tight mounting spaces on actuators and robotic wrists.

  • Sensor Boxes: Fixed (2, 4, 6, 8, 12 input) and modular junction boxes that consolidate complex EOAT sensor wiring into clean, single-cable outputs to the robot controller.

  • EOAT RFID Traceability: Embedded memory tags store tooling bill-of-materials, part geometry, cycle data, and maintenance records directly on the tool changer.

5. Collaborative Robot (Cobot) Kits

  • Direct Robot Compatibility: Universal Plug & Play kits certified for major cobot brands (Universal Robots, Techman, Fanuc, ABB, etc.).

  • Complete System Packages: Kits include collaborative-safe electric grippers, wrist-mounted capacitor power boxes, manual quick changers, and pre-configured vacuum systems with software URCaps/plugins.

Industry Applications

  • Automotive & Plastics: Injection molding part extraction, core/cavity insert loading, mold-centering alignment, and high-shear sheet metal handling.

  • Packaging & Logistics: High-speed pick-and-place, carton erecting, palletizing, and corrugated board handling.

  • Pharmaceutical & Cleanroom: Fraunhofer IPA cleanroom-certified electric grippers, VHP/UV resistant materials, and FDA-compliant suction handling.

  • Machine Tending & Electronics: CNC loading/unloading with IP67 protection, delicate circuit board handling, and optical lens/keypad manipulation.
